Jicho Communicative Media is a Tanzanian media company registered in Zanzibar. Jicho has 15 years of experience in film and video and film production and training. We have worked in electronic media and have experience in the use of video in a range of platforms. We have worked with diverse types of clients to develop training packages, participatory video, film and radio productions and Translating and Dubbing films into Kiswahili. We also work as location scouts and fixers for international productions..

— Consultancy Services

The consultants have worked in the field of media training and production for over 20 years with Prof Martin Mhando’s (Ph.D. Media Studies) experience as media professor covering over 23 years of university teaching in media education faculties (Australia, Tanzania and China). Ms Nyamachumbe has training expertise covering over 20 years in Africa with numerous consultancies in NGOs and government projects.

— Participatory Design

We have the ability to work with multiple stakeholders across a wide range of disciplines. We proffer Functional Knowledge Management and Learning expertise through the participatory video production field, experimented and delivered within African and Tanzania environments. We offer immersive media training programs focusing on process and participation towards personal development by learning how to function effectively with others.

— Translation and Dubbing

We have expertise in translating and dubbing as well as subtitling videos including SubRip Subtitle files (SRT) files. The Consultants have dubbed and subtitled major African films (Lumumba, Mah Saa Sah, Yesterday) and the Chinese TV drama Inspiration for Life.

— Overcoming obstacles

We have acute knowledge of PPP issues in Tanzania, understanding of national policies, which aim to effectively apply to strategic situations in order to address constraints of financing, management and maintenance of public goods and services.

— Visual Literacy in Education

We see the media in the classroom as a tool to engage learners and teachers in education and providing a richer learning experience. As producers of participatory videos in the fields of education we advance practical arguments for the role and place of process in education. We believe that the video is a sum total of a project, but the experience is the whole- which is greater than the sum of its parts
